>> Rock Hawk Talk Cruise Explores the Hidden History of Lake Oconee

On May 14, 2016 climb aboard a luxury cruise boat on Lake Oconee for an afternoon of Rock Hawk Talk, stories, and tales surrounding Lake Oconee. Local historian Larry Moore and Georgia Power Lake Resources Manager Scott Hendricks will explore the archeological sites and culture of Lake Oconee, including prehistoric ceremonial sites, early historical plantations, as well as Wallace Dam and the Oconee Wildlife Management Area.

The Rock Hawk Talk Cruise will depart at noon and at 3:30 p.m. for a two-hour trip from Plantation Marina. Rock Hawk Talk fundraiser tickets are $50 each and will be on sale beginning in the Spring of 2016. Tickets will include hors d’oeuvres and one drink ticket; a cash bar is also available. Only 40 tickets will be sold on a first come/first served basis.

The Rock Hawk Talk Cruise is presented by Historic Piedmont Scenic Byway as a fundraiser for Lake Oconee’s Rock Hawk Effigy, Educational Trails & Park.
